My name is Tanya Baricevich, I am a Cabinet Maker by trade, specializing in fine furniture. I have 20 years experience working with clients, both private and commercial. I have worked on the design and development of retail furniture as well as one off custom made bespoke pieces. My portfolio ranges from contemporary art pieces to ornate antique reproduction furniture. I did a classical style of apprenticeship where I learnt everything from traditional joinery to wood carving. We were not allowed to use power tools. I worked for my master for 9 years until I moved with my partner to the Spa Country of Victoria. Where we make beautiful furniture and kitchens in my workshop that overlooks native woodlands.

Another of my loves and the inspiration behind MADE by Tanya is to cook simple, by the season food with ingredients from our garden and its chickens. We do this in our own special kitchen. I come from a family with at least one Cabinet Maker for each generation. I can still remember the kitchens smells combined with different timber species, like the smell in my grandmas Rosewood buffet that my uncle Vlado made. My aunt Shirley and uncle Ante's Jarrah country kitchen in Jarrahdale... I love to help create kitchens so others too can have a special space. I work with foodies, home chefs and people who just want to enjoy something simply beautiful.
I started Made by Tanya as a way to use left-over timbers and off cuts too precious to become kindling for a fire. Made by Tanya features small batch collections of wooden wares. Artisan made objects and tools inspired by old fashioned elegance. Objects of function and form, developed for a modern world.
When I have wanted a specialized tool or been approached to help develop one as it has not been able to be found, I have made my own.
